Library Card
A library card is required for checking out and placing reserves on library materials. You will also need a card if you wish to request an interlibrary loan. There is no age requirement for obtaining a library card. The cardholder or legal guardian is responsible for all materials received using the card. Failure to abide by library rules and regulations may result in fines, fees, and/or suspension of library card privileges.
When you visit the library to get a library card, you will be asked to provide proof of identification. your form of identification must list your current address and legal name. Acceptable forms of identification:
- current driver's license
- state issued identification card
- recent official mail such as a paystub, bank statement or utility statement
If you are between the age of 14 and 18 without an official ID, you may be approved at the discretion of library staff. Applicants under the age of 14 must have a parent or guardian's signature on the application. The parent or guardian must provide photo identification and current proof of address.
The first card issued is free of charge. In the event that your card is lost, a replacement may be obtained for $1.00.
The library will never reveal library card information to any other agency or third party unless presented with a legal subpoena to do so. For more information see our Confidentiality Policy.
Please note: If you live outside of the city proper of Belmond or Wright County, access to the Bridges online library may not be available to you.
